The VPKW-CPF is a complete art criticism toolset and philosophy. VPKW stands for Virtue, Pleasure, Knowledge, and Wealth, the four core artistic motivations. CPF stands for Content, Process, Form, the three core sources of artistic significance.

The VPKW works like this: by taking the various material functions of art and taxonomizing them, it becomes possible, through identifying those functions in individual artworks, to surmise the general intentions of the artist with a high degree of accuracy.
The CPF looks at what makes an artwork... well... art! By isolating the individual characteristics of the artwork and identifying which lend that artwork significance, understanding our personal reactions to that work and its place in the canon becomes easy as pie.

Through complex statistical analysis, it can be possible to provide very telling portraits of artists, periods, collections, etc. by running them through a sufficient battery of VPKW-CPF testing.
Explore the sections below to get a feel for how each part of the VPKW works independently to provide a holistic view of art, or jump right in yourself and download the VPKW-CPF-CF1.
